Treatment of Melanoma with UVBI and H2O2

Tuesday, January 20, 2004

The following is a letter to a libertarian activist who contracted cancer. Again, I suggested H2O2 and UVBI.

(Author's Note: unfortunately, this letter did not arrive in time. Ron C passed away before it even reached him. This is one of the most frustrating things about these therapies. It's not that they don't work. They do work in many cases. It's just that they are not approved by the FDA, primarily because they are public domain and cannot be tied up with a patent. Most of the research regarding them was done prior to the age of double-blind testing, and therefore no one wants to invest the half billion to one billion dollars in trials and testing it takes to get them approved by the FDA. I despair over the loss of lives due to the existence of the FDA and it's "safety" concerns. What's so safe about thousands (perhaps millions) of unnecessary deaths due to urgent medications and treatments not reaching the market before people succumb to various deadly diseases...solely because the FDA hasn't determined whether they're "safe"?)

Dear Ron C.,

You don’t know me, but I’m a Libertarian Party member like yourself, and I was very saddened to hear from the American Liberty Foundation of your fight against cancer. I want to share with you a treatment option you might not have heard about. It was successfully used by the medical establishment to fight a wide variety of diseases, including cancer, prior to the advent of antibiotics, prescription drugs, and double-blind testing. The therapies are called Photoluminescence therapy (also known as UVBI or Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation) and Hydrogen Peroxide ( H2O2) therapy. See a webpage I've created about them at http://www.professionalrating.com/.

It's very hard to get these therapies, because they are not accepted by the medical community at large (who are largely ignorant of them), but I can point you to some MDs in Virginia who offer H2O2 and/or UVBI. Both therapies are a lot cheaper than traditional chemotherapies, both are often covered by insurance, and both have a long history of success with a wide range of diseases, including cancers. To the best of my knowledge, neither therapy has ever been double-blind tested, primarily because they can't be patented, and they aren't glamorous. Most of the research done on them was conducted before the advent of double-blind testing, and the therapies fell out of favor with the coming of the Prescription Drug Age. A UVBI machine was already patented more than 60 years ago, and that patent has since run out.

Briefly, UVBI is a procedure where the technician takes a small quantity of your blood, exposes it to ultraviolet light (which kills a variety of tiny parasitic lifeforms, including viruses, bacteria, alien cells, etc.), then reintroduces the treated blood back into the body. This process effectively "trains" the immune system in how to attack and destroy invading bodies, including cancer cells.

H2O2 is a therapy that introduces a small quantity of hydrogen peroxide in a saline drip into the blood stream. Adding this H2O2 to the blood stimulates an enzyme called catalase, which in turn stimulates cells throughout the body to generate little bursts of H2O2 on its own. The body regularly produces H2O2 as part of its normal immunological functioning. These "respiratory bursts" are used by the body in its normal self-healing procedures to literally explode or burn up invading organisms. The H2O2 breaks down very quickly into water (H2O) and oxygen, and it's the oxygen that burns up the invading organisms. It's very important to note that cancer cells hate oxygen in large quantities, which is why physicians and scientists have long suspected a connection between cancer and inadequate oxygen in the tissues.

On my home page, you'll see references to two books by William Campbell Douglass, MD. In Into The Light, he describes a patient with malignant melanoma who was successfully treated with Photoluminescence. Robert C. Olney, MD reported the following in a monograph from the mid-1940's, as described in Dr. Douglass' book:

"D.P., a 30-year-old white male, was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of generalized malignant melanoma (a virulent form of skin cancer).

"Eleven years previous(ly), a malignant melanoma had been removed from his right upper arm. When admitted to the hospital by Dr. Olney, he had a tumor mass under the skin at the upper left chest just below the clavicle (collar bone). Excision and biopsy revealed that the malignant melanoma had returned. He quickly developed metastases (tumor spread) all over his body, and his abdomen became very large from tumor growth. He had difficulty in breathing, had a constant cough, and was obviously in serious condition. He was blue in the face, and cancer could be felt throughout his abdomen.

"The patient was given ultraviolet blood irradiation (UVBI) therapy immediately and approximately every three days for about one week and then weekly. Within three weeks, the large tumor mass in his right armpit had disappeared as well as a tumor on the right chest wall; the abdomen became definitely smaller, and the tumor masses much less palpable. At the end of six weeks of treatment, the patient had no difficulty in breathing; his right leg, which had been extremely swollen, was normal and free of pain; and the abdomen had returned to normal size with no fluid or tumor masses palpable."

Dr. Olney goes on to say, "This case illustrates the very early, effective results of treatment with the whole program that we are now using for the treatment of all malignancy. This treatment is based upon the evidence that cancer is due to hypoxemia (low blood oxygen concentration) and blocking of oxidation with the development of fermentation of sugars which causes the cancer's growth. It has been shown that all cancers have one common factor an that is fermentation of sugar in the enzymes and cells replacing normal oxidation. Reversal of this process back to normal oxidation is all-important." (Douglass, Into The Light, p 141).

While I don't have a specific case history regarding H2O2 and melanoma, in general H2O2 works well with UVBI, and by itself it helps promote the flooding of oxygen throughout the body that Dr. Olney referred to.

Of course, the biggest tragedy is that modern medicine has never followed up on these early studies. Most MD's have never even heard of these therapies. When asked to evaluate them, the most generous responses are usually something like, "There are no double-blind studies available on them, so I wouldn't administer them."

I know of just three doctors in Virginia who administer one or both of these therapies. They are: Denise E Bruner, MD, 5015 Lee Highway, Ste 201, Arlington, VA 22207, Phone 703-558-4949; E. Aubrey Murden, MD, Alternative Integrated Medicine, 4020 Raintree Road, Ste. C, Chesapeake, VA 23321, Ph 757-488-9900; and Joan Resk, DO, 5249 Clearbrook Lane, Roanoke, VA 24014, Phone 540-776-8331.

I urge you to call whichever above doctor is closest to where you live and investigate these therapies further. The won't be able to guarantee any results, because of the lack of double-blind testing, but they should be able to give you some good information about them. And the cost of treatment is quite reasonable, especially with insurance to help. Good luck with your fight for life, Ron.
